Dear friend,
I am overjoyed to share that we have officially moved into our new church building at 58 Hale Street in the city of Norwich!
This is an incredible answer to prayer. From our many years of leasing the Chenango County Council of the Arts facility for Sunday worship, to now having a building of our own that we can use throughout the week—God has shown His faithfulness every step of the way.
In His perfect timing and gracious provision, God supplied not only the entire $170,000 needed to purchase this property, but also the funds for the many renovations—all without taking on any debt. This gives us tremendous freedom to direct our resources toward ministry, outreach, and advancing God’s kingdom right here in our community. I want to sincerely thank all of you who have prayed for us, supported this vision, and stood with us. Your generosity and partnership have made this possible.
Now, as we settle into this new chapter, I invite you to continue praying that God would use Sovereign Grace mightily to further the Gospel of Jesus Christ and transform many lives for eternity. We would also love for you to come and see firsthand what God is doing here—join us on a Sunday, worship with us, and consider becoming part of this work.
For service times and details, please click on the “Services” tab on our website. We look forward to welcoming you!
In His grace,
Mark Fazio

Our Vision
At Sovereign Grace Community Church, we have a big vision—to see lives in Norwich and beyond transformed by the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We believe God has placed us here for a purpose: to bring hope to the hurting, share truth with the searching, and help people grow into all God has called them to be.
With our new building in the heart of Norwich, all of this becomes even more possible. It opens countless doors for outreach, discipleship, and building authentic relationships throughout the week—not just on Sundays.
Sharing Biblical Hope & Help
Biblical Counseling Center
There is a very real need for biblical counseling in the Norwich area, and we plan to meet this need by opening a counseling center right here—where people can find true, lasting solutions to life’s struggles through God’s Word.
We’ve witnessed firsthand how powerfully God works through biblical counseling. My good friend Rich struggled with marriage problems, addictions, and didn’t know Christ. Through biblical counseling, God delivered him from these struggles and brought him into a saving relationship with Jesus.
There are many more people in our community just like Rich, who desperately need biblical counsel and the hope found only in Christ. At Sovereign Grace, we are actively training our members to provide biblical counsel on issues like depression, anxiety, marriage, and parenting—so more lives can be transformed by the Gospel.
Reaching the Next Generation
Teen Outreach Ministry
Norwich High School has 687 students in grades 9–12, and Norwich Middle School has 475 students in grades 6–8. Our property is just a stone’s throw from both schools, uniquely positioning us to reach these teens.
We envision an after-school program where students can hang out, play foosball or ping pong, get free tutoring, and most importantly, experience the love of Christ in tangible ways. By reaching these teens, we also hope to build bridges into their homes and impact entire families with the hope of the Gospel.
Youth Group Activities
Our close proximity to the schools makes this an ideal location for a thriving youth group ministry. We can’t wait to see many young lives changed by the power of Jesus Christ.
Helping the Materially Poor in a Holistic Way
In Norwich, 8.5% of residents are unemployed and 21.8% live below the poverty line (US Census, 2010). The need is clear.
We want to help people not only with their immediate needs, like through a food pantry, but also by coming alongside them long-term—helping them develop skills, find meaningful work, and pursue their God-given potential so they can support themselves and their families to the glory of God.
For example, a young man we’ll call “Bob” came to our church in need. We provided monetary help, furniture, and household items. But we didn’t stop there—one of our college students helped Bob study for his GED, and a church member provided a job opportunity.
There are many more “Bobs” in our community who need this kind of holistic, Gospel-centered support. With our new building, we’ll be able to help even more people throughout the week—offering encouragement, practical help, and biblical counsel.
Building Up Women Through God’s Word
We plan to host community Bible studies for women, open to ladies of all faiths, denominations, and backgrounds. Daytime studies will especially welcome mothers of preschoolers and stay-at-home moms, with loving childcare provided in a clean, comfortable nursery.
These groups will be a wonderful way to build relationships and share the life-changing truths of God’s Word with women who might otherwise be overlooked.
A Welcoming Place for All
We want to create a warm, friendly place where anyone can drop in for free coffee & Wi-Fi, relax, and feel truly at home. We believe God will use these simple touches to open the door for deeper conversations and lasting relationships.
Community Events
We also look forward to hosting a variety of community events, such as:
Discipling & Equipping Believers
While outreach and evangelism are central to our vision, we’re also passionate about strengthening and maturing believers. With our new space, we can host:
Come Be Part of It
We invite you to see firsthand what God is doing here—whether by stopping in for a cup of coffee, bringing your kids after school, joining a Bible study, or worshiping with us on a Sunday morning.
Together, let’s reach Norwich with the life-changing love of Jesus Christ.
